How to clean vanilla beans.
There are a variety of ways to clean other types of vanilla beans. Here's just one:Cut each vanilla bean in half, lengthwise, and lay it outer-pod-side down. Using the back of a knife (or an oyster shucker, or the back of a spoon), gently scrape the seeds out by running the dull side of the knife down from end-to-end. Use the seeds in your favorite recipes, or try one of ours!
