Spiced Radishes with Lemon Pickle Labneh

Slofoodgroup Team July 29, 2020

Tangy Labneh Cheese with Spiced Radishes is the perfect summer appetizer!

We like simple and no-fuss recipes that require little to no cooking. And this creamy, yet incredibly fresh labneh satisfies both our lack of time and affinity for wonderfully flavored food.

We cooked these radishes on a stovetop, but they are also fabulous when spiced and grilled, so make sure you bring this dish along to the next BBQ!

A simple and fresh appetizer made with Labneh, Radishes, and Pickles

Ingredients for the Labneh appetizer

For the labneh:

  • ½ cup greek yogurt
  • 1 pickle, finely diced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Juice and zest from ½ lemon
  • Flaky sea salt & pepper to taste

For the Spiced Radishes:

  • 4-6 radishes
  • ½ tsp ground cumin
  • ½ tsp ground coriander
  • ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
  • Pinch of chilli flakes
  • Pinch of salt

Method for preparing this easy appetizer:

  1. Mix all of the labneh ingredients to a bowl and mix well;
  2. Add a touch of olive oil to a pan and cook the spiced radishes on medium-high heat for about 5 minutes; bring them on top of the labneh and serve with fresh bread.

This recipe is best when made with a pinch of beautiful, flaky sea salt. Remember to use high-quality ingredients for the best results!
