These Orange Yogurt Parfaits with homemade Za’atar make a great breakfast, snack, or even a healthy dessert! Za’atar is a fragrant and versatile way to incorporate Middle Eastern flavors into your recipes. Using a mix of dried oregano, thyme, and/or marjoram, with sumac, toasted sesame seeds, and salt, this spice mix makes it a great addition to your spice cabinet. 

How to Make Orange Marmalade Yogurt Parfaits with Za'atar Seasoning

For the Yogurt Parfait:

  • 4 cups greek yogurt
  • 2 cups bitter orange marmalade
  • Granola, optional
  • Any fresh or frozen fruits, optional
  • 4 tsp za’atar (see ingredients below for homemade Za'atar)

For Za’atar:

  • 1 tbsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/2 tsp dried marjoram
  • 1 tsp sumac powder
  • pinch of cumin powder
  • pinch of sea salt
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds
  1. Start by adding 1/2 cup of greek yogurt to a glass or jar; on top, layer 1/4 cup of orange marmalade; sprinkle homemade za’atar on top, and repeat the process one more time.
  2. Garnish with granola and fresh fruit on top and serve right away.
