How to use Edible Gold Sheets
Loose leaf edible gold is available in books of 5, 10 or 25 sheets, each measuring 8cm by 8cm.
Our Gold leaf is encased in a heat-sealed envelope to prevent moisture and damage. Slofoodgroup food-grade gold leaf is manufactured to the standard European size of 80 x 80 mm (3.15 x 3.15 inches). Our silver leaf is slightly larger at 3.5 x 3.5 inches.

*To use gold sheets:
Avoid touching edible gold leaf with your hands or fingers, as it will stick. Do not breath directly on your gold leaf because it will blow away or wrinkle up. Using a paring knife, tweezers, or a razor, cut away the portion of the gold sheet that you wish to use. Pick up the piece of gold using just the tip of your knife or tool and gently touch the item you are applying the gold leaf to; it should stick, as it applies very easily to surfaces.

Bought this to use on my own wedding cake, and it was perfect! This was my first time working with gold leaf, but I made sure to read up on how to use it before trying. Pro tip: the gold blows away in the wind very very easily, even with your own breath. You can avoid this by holding your breath, but I found a better way: wear a face mask. It blocks the flow of the wind while still allowing you to breathe normally and take your time with the gold placement. Looks a little weird to wear a face mask in my own kitchen but hey, gotta do what ya gotta do.
We have tried many brands of gold leaf for decorating our chocolate bonbons here at chocolate+cashmere. This is by far the best. We make several hundred a week with the loose leaf sheets of gold leaf, and it always looks good.
I put the gold leaf on homemade butter cookies with a champagne truffle, dark chocolate orange peels and a packet of rose sugar in a gold organza bag. It was a hit!!!!! The gold leaf dressed everything up! It looked beautiful! I highly recommend!
