Ways To Use Gold Leaf

Have you ever seen a cake decorated with edible gold and think to yourself, wow that is beautiful but I don't want to use it on food?

Well, no need to fret, we are here to help. Trust us when we say there are plenty of additional ways to creatively use gold foil to put that shimmer and shine of gold into your life. Gold leaf has many applications beyond cakes and decorating desserts. In this article, we are going to share a few of our staff's personal favorites.

Gold Facial Masks

Out of all the things gold foil can be used for, in our office, gold leaf masks seem to take the cake, especially with the ladies, as shown in the picture below. Some people say gold leaf helps pull toxins, softens skin, and adds a little extra glow to those already rosy cheekbones. Most people find it fun and would love to give it a try but perhaps you have something else in mind. Try using our soft press transfer sheets or hard press gold for best results

Essential Oil Blends

A lot of customers use gold leaf in their essential oil blends and medicinal concoctions. The sight of gold leaf flakes floating around suspended in liquid seems to excite the masses.  Cleopatra would be proud and your friends on social media will love it! Don't forget to tag us on Facebook and Instagram so we stay up-to-date on what are customers you are doing with gold leaf.

Restoration of art and furniture

This is probably one of the most underrated uses for not just gold leaf but silver leaf as well.  Metal leafs work great for restoration and furniture decoration. The thin-pressed metals add an ornate look and feel to make even the dullest piece of your grandparent's furniture collection look fabulous. Take away that cold dusty feel of once-forgotten items and give them absolutely splendid look by adding a little gold to revitalize shabby pieces. Personally, we have tried adding gold sheets to tables, chairs, bed frames, and art—you name it, we've put gold on it. Working with gold makes you feel handy and surely, your friends will think you are a little artsier too.

What are your favorite uses for gold leaf?

Black tea absolutely can be used in a brine and is actually a pretty phenomenal flavoring agent.
