Açaí Oatmeal Energy Balls
Slofoodgroup Team avril 20, 2023
Açaí Energy Balls Are Like an Açaí Bowl Without The Mess.
Açaí bowls have gained a lot of popularity around the world as a delicious way to boost immunity and give the body a jolt of long-lasting energy. Known as one of the world’s greatest superfoods, the açaí fruit is packed full of beneficial antioxidants. Açaí bowls originated in Brazil, where a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu master would blend the unsweetened fruit with a banana and give it to his fighters to improve their performance. It became so popular that he started marketing the blend and eventually it became a highly-sought-after dish for travelers visiting the country.
Since their inception in the 1970s, açaí bowls have evolved to include I wide array grains, berries, and oftentimes, less-than-healthy sweeteners and toppings. They can still be made healthy and are absolutely delicious, but definitely not the most convenient food source for active individuals who need a grab-and-go energy source.
That’s why we created our oatmeal açaí energy balls. They incorporate açaí powder, oats, several types of healthful seeds, protein-loaded nuts and nut butters, dried fruits, vanilla bean paste, and just a touch of natural sweetener by way of maple syrup. We also add ceylon cinnamon powder, which will trick your tastebuds into believing that these balls contain more sugar than they actually do. Optionally, you can add dark chocolate chunks for additional antioxidants, minerals, and sweetness.
As is the case with just about any grain or seed-based energy snack, these aren't all that pretty. Don't let that stop you from trying them, though, because they are absolutely delicious!
