Vanilla beans for extract
I purchased some vanilla beans to make homemade vanilla extract and was very pleasantly surprised at how healthy and fresh looking the beans were. You can tell just by looking the quality of these beans. Although I think I picked the wrong variety for the flavor of extract I am wanting, I just bought another version and I am very excited to be able to taste the difference when its all done. Its almost like choosing a fine wine, you can taste the different notes in each extract and use for various purposes.
Hey Daniel, great insight on comparing vanilla beans with fine wine. Each origin of vanilla bean is very different and does offer different flavor and aroma characteristics that are unique to its inherent growing region.
I'm excited to see how it turns out
I ordered these vanilla beans to make homemade vanilla extract. I am very impressed with how many communications and updates there were once I placed my order. They arrived quickly and vacuum packed. I am excited to see how my vanilla extract turns out a year from now. The beans themselves looked lovely and fresh. They smelled a little different from what I was used to "normal" vanilla smelling like, but overall I think it is because these aren't your "normal" vanilla extract beans. I am only leaving 4 stars because I don't know the end result yet.
Love the SLOFoodGroup compagny! They always have good quality vanilla beans and this, whatever the variety. The client service is A1. I really appreciate to make business with them.

Wonderful Vanilla Beans
These vanilla beans are amazing. They were a good size, moist and a wonderful aroma. I am using them to make vanilla extract. I am optimistic about how it will turn out in six weeks. [Amazon Review]
